Water: The Gift of life

Access to clean, pure drinking water is the biggest challenge facing mankind in the 21st Century. Starting with the industrial revolution, human technological advancement has left a devastating footprint on the environment. Wars, Manufacturing and Mining industries, Agriculture, Fisheries, Poor urban planning have all contributed to the pollution of our precious waterways worldwide.

In Australia we face the same challenges as people in developing countries when it comes to having access to clean water. Even though our water is heavily treated to prevent diseases caused by  water borne bacteria, viruses, fungi and parasites , there is very little monitoring when it comes to testing water for heavy metals, pesticides and other industrial pollutants.

Since the 1950’s communities across Australia have been adding toxic fluoride to the water, under the guise of preventing tooth decay, but very little has been publicly discussed about the ongoing debate worldwide of the devastating consequences of having fluoride in the human body. Furthermore, it is against the law to forcibly medicate people, and with adding fluoride to the water the governments are infringing this human right.

The human body on average is between 60 to 70% water, in infants the percentage is even higher. Many ailments can be prevented by having access to clean water. While governments and councillors argue over what does in our water, it is imperative we get proactive, educate ourselves and find out how we can minimize damage to our bodies by purifying our water. Water after all is the Gift of Life!
